Little Vikings Pre-primary School (since 2014)
Little Vikings Pre-primary School is located in the slum of the Goreangab district (Windhoek, Namibia). In 2013, when we visited this kindergarten for the first time, we made a promise to the teacher: “we will meet again in our next trip”. So, in 2014, we kept our promise.
The children attending the pre-school are approximately 125, aged between 4 and 6 years, all coming from the surrounding area. This small kindergarten made of metal sheets, the same material as the houses where the children live in, authentically reflects the surrounding landscape, as far as structure and organization are concerned. The kindergarten was magically personalized by a young teacher, Erwin, helped by some children attending it: a colored sheet, a rainbow painted on the wall, two small classrooms equipped with the minimum required and a playground area built with recycled tires and some other materials coming from the same place where the property is located.

Fully satisfied with the work done at Little Vikings, Erwin was hired as a teacher and appointed after-school head of our Happydu Village project in Soweto - Windhoek.

- A new playgroung
- Two bathrooms and outdoor flooring
- Raising the fence
- Tables, chairs, blackboards and other classroom furniture
- Regular supply of educational material and stationery
- Outdoor gazebo
