Maricle (2015 – 2016)
Maricle is a little girl we met in 2014, when she was hospitalized urgently to Katutura Hospital (a public hospital in Windhoek) for meningitis. After a long stay in the hospital she was dismissed and the problem seemed to have been solved, but, unfortunately, in August 2015 we were informed that Maricle was admitted to the Hospital again.
Maricle's problem was a bone opening in the frontal and paranasal sinuses that interacted with the inner part of the skull, thus providing the child with inflammation (headache pain) or worse internal infections (meningitis), resulting in obscuring vision and fluctuations of brain fluid from the nose. The public hospital was not equipped for such a difficult and complex operation. Thus, we turned to the MediClinic of Windhoek, the same private clinic where Gerome was operated in 2013. Maricle was successfully operated in October 12, 2015 and now she is well and back home with her mother Melinda who wrote a thank you letter for all Happydu Onlus’ supporters ((ex Mammadu Italia Onlus).
