Celly Day Care Center (Mondesa, Swakopmund - since 2015)
Nearby the modern city of Swakopmund, overlooking the ocean, there is Mondesa, an infinite township deeply poor. Just a few steps away from houses and buildings built with European standards, there are millions of mostly wooden houses, that lie on a large area, or in some places poorly supplied with water and electricity (DRC, Democratic Resettlement Community).
In Mondesa there are many small kindergartens built with material collected from a nearby landfill where local people get all kind of stuff still useful. The case, but we believe is not a coincidence, brought us to know Mondesa, the DRC and its people and we decided not to remain indifferent.
One of our supporters, a coworker of Viaggi Solidali, in August 2015 intoduced us Celeste and her small kindergarten (Celly Day Care Center) which is located in the heart of Mondesa and welcomes about 20 children aged between 3 and 6 years.
Since August 2015, Happydu ETS has been providing the following aid to “Celeste’s children”:
